From the opening game of the 2009 season, Christian Ponder has performed at a very high level. With his passing numbers soaring over the past few weeks it has become evident that the rest of the offense, especially the line and receivers, have caught up with the junior quarterback and made significant strides from where they began the season.

NC State head coach Tom O'Brien held his weekly press conference Monday. After a week off with the bye, the Pack is back at it Saturday at Florida State, and O'Brien has a healthy appreciation for the Seminoles and their star quarterback Christian Ponder, a junior.

After Thursday's final practice of the week, offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher and quarterback Christian Ponder spoke to the media about Saturday's homecoming game against North Carolina State. Among issues that were discussed include the noon kickoff, the starting tailback, Ponder's increased attention, and more.

NC State and Florida State aren't looking for a shootout Saturday, but it might be inevitable. The two teams both have high-powered quarterbacks and defenses that are going through renovations. As a result, NC State and Florida State are both 3-4 overall, with the Wolfpack 0-3 in the ACC and the Seminoles 1-3.
